The Djama El Fna fills with every food vendor you could imagine, but this one really caught my eye. I’ve had some odd foods in my travels, but I’ve never eaten goat brains. Despite the vendor trying, I still haven’t had them. Maybe next time.

Daily Photo: Koutoubia Minaret, Marrakech, Morocco
I used the Koutoubia Minaret to find my way around Marrakech. The winding alleys and jumble of people make it easy to get lost, but the minaret always pointed the way back to my guesthouse. Beautiful gardens surround the minaret, so a little detour was in order every now and then.

The Granada Cathedral dominates the plaza and the surrounding city of Granada. The vibrant colors and beautiful architecture really make this a wonderful place.

Hierapolis is perched above the travertine pools of Pamukkale in Turkey. Romans used this place as a resort to bath in the natural hot springs that have defined the landscape of Pamukkale. Poor water management has all but dried up the hot springs today, yet the surrounding ruins of Hierapolis are an impressive site.

I took this photo on a trip to Yellowstone over a year ago. I really liked the red in the water from the thermophile bacteria. The contrast between the red water and the blue sky really make the white of the geyser stand out.
